Introduction
Meet Auto-Open ("we," "us," or "the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains how our Chrome Extension handles data. Our core philosophy is simple: Your data belongs
to you, and it should never leave your computer.
Information Collection and Use
Meet Auto-Open does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers.
- Google Calendar Data: The Extension requests read-only access to your Google
Calendar to identify upcoming Google Meet links. This data is processed locally in your browser. We
do not see your meeting titles, descriptions, or attendee lists.
- Authentication: We use the Google Chrome Identity API (OAuth2) to authenticate. We
never see or store your Google password. The access token is stored locally on your device to
facilitate calendar checks.
Storage and Data Security
All data used by the Extension is stored using chrome.storage.local. This includes:
- Your OAuth access tokens.
- A list of meeting IDs you have already joined (to prevent duplicate tabs).
- Your personal settings (e.g., whether to auto-mute or auto-open).
This data remains on your local machine and is deleted if you uninstall the Extension.
Permissions Disclosure
To function correctly, Meet Auto-Open requires the following permissions:
- Identity: To securely connect to your Google Calendar without handling your login
credentials.
- Alarms: To schedule periodic checks for upcoming meetings in a resource-efficient
manner.
- Storage: To save your preferences and prevent opening the same meeting twice.
- Tabs: To open meeting links and ensure you aren't already in the session.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties. Because your data is
processed locally, there is no data to share.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated"
date at the top of this page.
