Introduction
Meet Auto-Open ("we," "us," or "the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains how our Chrome Extension handles data. Our core philosophy is simple: Your data belongs
to you, and it should never leave your computer.
Data Accessed
To provide its core functionality, the Extension accesses the following Google user data:
- Google Calendar Events: We access your calendar events (via the
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly scope) to identify upcoming meetings
that have Google Meet video conferencing links. We specifically look for the event time and the
conference link.
- Browser Tabs: We access your open tabs to determine if a meeting link is already
open, preventing duplicate tabs for the same meeting.
Data Usage
The data we access is used strictly for the following purposes:
- Automation: To automatically open Google Meet links at the start time specified in
your calendar event.
- User Preferences: Processing your settings to automatically mute your microphone or
turn off your camera when joining a meeting.
- Efficiency: To check if you are already in a meeting so we don't interrupt you or
open duplicate windows.
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose unrelated to the Extension's
core
functionality.
Data Sharing
We do not share your data. The Extension operates entirely locally on your device.
- We do not transfer your data to any third-party servers.
- We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not share your data with other applications or services.
All communication happens directly between your browser and Google's APIs.
Data Storage & Protection
We are committed to securing your data:
- Local Storage: All data, including your OAuth access tokens and user preferences,
is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure
chrome.storage.local API.
- Encryption: Communication with Google's Calendar API occurs over a secure,
encrypted HTTPS connection.
- No External Databases: We do not verify, store, or process your data on any
servers owned or operated by us.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your control over your data is absolute:
- Retention: Data (such as authentication tokens and cached meeting lists) is
retained only as long as you have the Extension installed and authorized.
- Deletion: You can delete all data associated with the Extension at any time by
simply uninstalling the Extension from your Chrome browser. Upon uninstallation, Chrome removes all
local
data associated with the Extension.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated"
date at the top of this page.
